Questions

What people ask first

Are walk-ins welcome?

No. Almond is a one-chair suite, so every visit is booked ahead. Choose a time on the booking page, or text us.

How do I book?

Choose a time on the booking page. A deposit holds your visit and goes toward your service.

How long does an overlay take?

A new overlay takes about 90 minutes and a fill about 75. Added art adds a few minutes; we tell you how many before we start.

What is builder gel, and how is it different from gel polish, acrylic and dip?

Builder gel is a thick gel built in a thin layer over your natural nail and cured under a lamp. Gel polish is a thin colored layer. Acrylic and dip are built differently, and none of them is what we do here: Almond does builder gel and natural manicures.

Will it make my nails longer?

No. An overlay follows your own nail and is shaped short. It is not an extension or a tip.

Do I need to book removal first?

If your nails were done somewhere else, yes. Book removal first so there is time to take it off gently. Please don't pull off gel yourself.

Can I bring a picture?

Please do. Bring it, or text it to us, and we will tell you the service and its time.

What if a nail lifts?

Tell us within a week and we will look at it with you.

How do you clean your tools?

We clean and disinfect tools between clients, and metal tools go through an autoclave. Each client gets a new file and buffer.

How does pricing work?

Prices depend on the service and its length, and show on the booking page. Tips are welcome and never expected.
